Liam went back to his hotel room and tried to get some sleep. After hours of tossing and turning, always finding his mind returning to Jocelyn who was just embarking on her new adventure in adult living, he decided to start his drive home right away. He showered, made the coffee in the hotel room, decided it was borderline allowed to be called coffee and checked out of the hotel. It was three a.m. and he was surprised to find a donut shop already open. He noticed that there were plenty of people out in this town at this time of the morning and decided it was not early risers but late-nighters. He bought a ‘Texas Grande’ container of coffee and an assortment of bear claws before hitting the road.

Liam found that he could not stay long in other lines of thoughts or listening to the radio without his mind going back to Jocelyn Charles. He recalled her smile, the way she could twist a response to meet her need and his demands. She was intelligent, well-spoken and down to earth. He enjoyed the spitfire in her and she was someone his mother would describe as high-spirited. He could see himself spending more time with her. Forever was not a word in Liam’s vocabulary for any woman as of yet, but if it were on the table, he felt she might be the biggest contender for his heart. But she was right, which was infuriating for some reason. They had just started to meet their goals and they did not need to be sidetracked, but keeping her in his sights was an excellent idea.

Liam had decided to stop over at Yellowstone to talk to the rangers there. He would check in on what assignments he could snag before going home to Sheridan. He often picked up little jobs here and there with them such as brush firefighting or search and rescue as he was well trained in both of those areas. As he concentrated on the road, he reflected on his plans for the next few months. He reviewed the feelers he had out to large working ranches hoping to sign on to gain the needed experience to one day run his own spread and thought of Jocelyn.
